HI Everyone!

ITS FRIDAY and our last day before 2 weeks holidays! Yeah!

How did the Easter bonnets and crowns go yesterday? There is an old song your granny would have song called "In your Easter bonnet"

So today...if you can collect some daffodils from the garden or if you can get to school you can take some from the wildlife garden.

Look very closely at the daffodil...does it smell?

How many petals - do all have the same number?

Do you know what you call the sticky out bit in the middle [its the name of an instrument]

[trumpet]

Look closely inside the trumpet and you will maybe see a star shape.  This is where the bees collect what?

Now we are going to pull off the petals gently - count them as you take them off. Then gently pull of the trumpet and then you can see the inside better . These are called the stamens and they hold the pollen for the bees. Can you shake off any pollen?

Pull off the stamens and you are left with the long green part [ what's it name? stem]

Next very carefully with a butter knife cut through the green knobbly bit at the top of the stem and you will find little white seeds inside.

With your second daffodil, use a pencil or crayons and carefully draw WHAT YOU SEE. Look carefully.

You could make this into an Easter card for someone.

NOw...time for an Easter break!  Have fun!
